Frequently Asked Questions
Permanent Jewelry 101
What is Permanent Jewelry?
Ever Adorn Me Jewelry is made with minimalistic chains. The chain is secured onto your body by welding the ends together. “Permanent” means that this bracelet has no clasp and is custom designed and fit intended to stay on for everyday wear. Although the jewelry is made to be worn daily, if your chain is continuously pulled on, it will compromise the integrity of the chain and stretching and or breaking could occur causing your chain to come off.
What does the welding process entail?
The process includes a cool spark that welds a chain together with no clasp. This allows for a custom fit with your choice of chains and embellishments
Does it hurt?
No pain is involved. All you will feel is the excitement of leaving with your new custom piece of permanent jewelry.
Who cannot get permanent jewelry?
- Anyone under the age of 7
- Anyone under the age of 16 without an adult present
- Anyone with a pacemaker
- Anyone with a Gold or Silver allergy
Can a minor get a piece of permanent jewelry?
We are happy to weld a permanent bracelet, anklet, ring or necklace on anyone between the ages of 7 and 16 with parental consent and supervision. Some factors to consider for permanent jewelry on a minor are:
- Age
- Activity level
- Future growth
- Any other daily factors that could cause excessive wear and tear.
How long does it take?
On average, you will need about 15 minutes to get a custom jewelry piece. This will allow for time to choose your perfect chain and embellishments. The actual weld only takes a few minutes
How long will my permanent jewelry last?
The longevity of your jewelry is largely dependent on external factors such as your lifestyle, your occupation and your activity level. Because of this, we cannot guarantee the lifespan of your custom jewelry, but all of our welds are thoroughly inspected for security and a solid weld. We are extremely particular about where we purchase our chains, and our suppliers all perform strength testing to minimize the occurrence of a random break.
What if I need to take it off?
You can easily remove the jewelry with a pair of scissors or nail clippers. Simply cut the small jump ring that was welded. You can come back in for a re-weld for $10 when you are ready to wear it again. No need to remove your jewelry for TSA airport security, but there are some medical procedures that will require all jewelry to be removed.
What if I need to get an X-ray or MRI?
We recommend that you speak with your doctor and ask if you will need to remove your permanent jewelry during your X-ray or MRI appointment. If you are required to remove your permanent jewelry, simply cut the jump ring and store everything in a zip-lock bag. We will gladly re-weld it on you at no cost for medical procedures at any of our future events. Just send us a message when you are ready to re-weld your piece back on or check our calendar of events to find our next pop-up location.
Does the jewelry come with a guarantee?
Yes! You can find our guarantee at the bottom of each page on our website.
Even though our chains are made of high quality jewelry grade material, these chains are delicate and could stretch or perhaps break if pulled too hard. If the chain breaks and the weld is still intact, the repair cost will depend on what needs to be done to repair the piece ($10 and up). Should the weld break rewelding is complimentary for the first 30 days.
Ever Adorn Me is not liable for lost chains.

Permanent Jewelry Options
What are my chain and charm choices?
All of our chains are solid 14K yellow gold, gold filled and sterling silver to provide options for different preferences and price points. Each piece is custom fit for each individual.
You can also add charms and connector pieces to personalize your jewelry. We are constantly updating our selection.
What if I want a custom piece but I don’t want it welded on?
If you prefer a less permanent option, we can create your piece with a clasp for a nominal additional cost.
Can you do hand chains?
We can! We can add a pretty connector to them as well! We will provide a quote depending on the style and chain you choose.
Repairs
Can you fix a bracelet that I got somewhere else?
Absolutely! We will be happy to fix your outside piece. There is a $10 re-weld cost if the chain is in good condition and just needs a new weld. If additional connectors or chains are needed you can purchase those from us.
Can my jewelry be resized or switched to a different wrist?
Sure! If you change your mind about the chain length after wearing for a while we can shorten a chain that is too long or add length with a connector to a tight chain. We can move your piece to the other wrist or ankle. These services are $25 per piece of jewelry (additional fee for adding chain, charms or connectors).
Since your permanent jewelry is never removed, we are unable to avoid exposure to the harsh effects of our daily lives. We only offer tarnish resistant choices for our chains, charms and connectors, but you will still need to care for your jewelry to minimize wear and keep it looking beautiful.
Chain Options and Jewelry Care
Gold Filled
Gold Filled jewelry is, in fact, 14 karat gold applied over a base metal. A thick layer of gold is applied using heat and pressure, which creates a strong bond between the gold and the base metal, making gold-filled jewelry more resistant to tarnishing and wear than gold plating, which is a very thin layer applied with a different process. Gold plating is much more likely to wear off and expose the base metal over time, which is why we don’t use gold plated materials. Even though the 14K gold layer on our gold filled jewelry is thicker than plated jewelry, exposure to the alcohol in lotions and tanning products can still begin to break down that layer over time. Even with care, gold filled and sterling jewelry, when worn everyday, will begin to dull or darken with exposure to everyday chemicals in our tap water, soaps and cosmetics over time. You can minimize this wear with regular cleaning with a mild soap and by avoiding applying perfumes and lotions directly to the skin where the jewelry is attached.
Sterling Silver
Sterling Silver is especially sensitive to extended/repeated exposure to chlorine. If you are a daily swimmer or a regular hot tub visitor, this should be considered when considering your choice of chains. A daily cleaning and polishing is always recommended but over time the chemicals can still cause darkening.
Solid 14K Yellow Gold
Solid 14K gold, though a bit more costly, is much more water and chemical “proof” compared to gold filled or silver and will retain its beauty with daily wear. It is the “gold” standard for permanent jewelry!
A regular cleaning with a product like a mild dish detergent and some warm water, followed by a thorough rinse and a good pat dry should be incorporated in your routine to extend the life of your new jewelry regardless of the metal you choose.
Once a chain, charm or connector has darkened due to exposure it cannot be salvaged which is why it is important to take these steps for care in order to get the longest wear possible.
Charms and connectors
We have a rotating selection of charms and connectors to add to your jewelry.
What type of chain should I choose?
While Gold Filled and Sterling Silver are more budget friendly they require more care and their longevity is limited due to exposure to certain chemicals such as Chlorine, and Alcohol. Solid yellow gold will never fade, never tarnish, and retains its value. For a piece that is meant to stay on 24/7, this is your best option.
